Strange lob-sided early 90’s techno / electro nugget dug up from where, we’re not really sure.

We’ve got a big soft-spot for the misshapen and sometimes misguided techno experiments that leaked out of bedrooms in the 90’s.  The misplaced optimism, enthusiasm and eccentric spirit so many levels removed from intimidating labels like R&S, Warp, UR, Peacefrog, etc.  Le Lab are from Switzerland and managed just two EP’s in the 90’s and a couple of CDs.  It’s set in the similarly shonky and playful mood of many Irdial Discs 12”s or countless other also rans that ploughed all their savings into releasing one record before giving up to pursue a genuine career.

Here though - stuttering drums, probing pads, squirming patches and plenty of spliced telephone dialogue.  We can imagine that hastily recorded Carl Craig / 69 radio show on cassette setting imaginations alight, spawning  a new skewed dance music from a place where it didn’t properly exist yet.  We don’t get these as much these days.  (Mint / New / deadstock - with CD)
