Head-melting Hungarian musique-concrete from Laszlo Dubrovay with his matter-of-factly titled "A² "/ Oscillations Nos. 1-3 LP. Part of an incredible crop of Hungarian electro-acoustic artists along with Zoltán Jeney, Zoltán Pongrácz, Nicolas Schöffer, and more, who released seriously amazing early electronic works via the state-ran Hungaroton imprint, Laszlo's work spans a wide range of avant-garde styles. This one (immortalised on Keith Fullerton-Whitman's notorious ((and very geeky)) Creel Pone bootleg series), pays homage to Stockhausen with a very minimalist display of delicately tuned, microtonal adjustments and general sonic wizardry mixed with subtle and somewhat treated acoustic instrumentation. MAD. Big recommends for anyone into the INA-GRM stuff, Alvin Curran, Anne Gillis, Keiji Haino, Trevor Wishart, Elaine Radigue n that sorta business. (Vinyl & Sleeve NM).
