Crucial, hi-art music geekery from the legendary Polish avant-garde imprint Alma Art - a key fixture in the long linage of obscure gallery-edition records and the ‘Broken Music’ canon.  Set up in the early 80’s by Warsaw students, the label became a conduit for avant-garde music that was rejected by the music industry and media, ranging from stark improv, to Fluxus-esque recordings of Birds in a Petshop to free-jazz / concrete hybrids and a load others I’ve never been able to hear in brutally small numbers.  Krzysztof Knittel’s ‘Lapis / Low Sounds’ is the final (known) inclusion to the short-lived imprint, comprised of a beautifully meandering electro-acoustic tonic of slippery synthetic tonal blips ’n bloops paired with solo flute and tinkered percussion that gradually unravels into clunkier torrents of electronics fuxkry, whilst the other side spreads out a deeeeep, gently surging low-frequency hum out for what feels like hours recalling the similarly meditative states encouraged by Elaine Radigue, Harry Bertoia, +++.  Highest recommends for the intrepid listener stalking esoteric library music or working their way thru the Creel Pone series.. (Unplayed deadstock - Mint / New - plain sleeve).
