Ambushing feedback-accumulated drone strikes from Ian Middleton collected up on these throughly DIY paste-on artwork drops from US label Eclipse Records. Those with nothing better to do of an evening other than trawl the net through the deepest recesses of the Discogs database may recognise Ian's work through his earlier Remora project that had ties with that Bentley Welcomes Safe Drivers label and a little crop of tantalising lathe-cuts that continue to evade thee. These pieces though - totally undiluted death-stare synth-modulations, delay-riddled and heavily tweaked to corrupt the mind. I perhaps foolishly didn't feel their full hypnotic force initially whilst quickly skipping through - they're designed and chemically engineered for the type of enriching transformative journeys that can only be achieved thru EXTENDED listening - set much in a similar mould to the prolonged trips led by Kawabata Makoto on his epic 'Private Tapes' series or some of the more organic jaunts led by Keith Fullerton Whitman / Ashtray Navigations and the likes. Seriously galvanising stuff.. BEAM ME UP! (VG+/VG+).
