Deep, dark and smudgy abstractions from Manchester lynch-pin Herron who delivers a batch of roughshod textural pieces with dub sensibility. A-side lays down the music Sam had prepared for the opening of the Gas gig at RNCM, but never got to perform because Wolfgang V was faffing with the visuals too long and it ate into his set. Shame, because by the sounds of these hazy, noise-coated and gently unfolding rhythm cuts it would have been a lot more interesting than the half-arsed ‘live’ performance he delivered that night. <3 you really Wolfgang!! B-side collects up a series of tracks more aimed at the club; broken ’n disjointed rhythms unfold within dense sound-fields with an acute ear for space, texture and mood.. much like the work and output of kindred spirit Howes of Cong Burn or co-conspirator Lyster of the mighty YOUTH label. One of the city’s finest for sure.. (mint / new).
