Outrageous batch of reconstituted live recordings self-released by notorious Kyoto avant-post-punk / mutant funk group EP-4, led by Kaoru Sato (R-N-A Organism / Vanity).  Easily the most unusual output from an already pretty unusual group, the mood is less frantic than their studio work - edging more towards a more stoned, slower-brewed, brooding almost krauty feel where the group seem to be happy to jamming in each other's company, albeit with heavy emphasis on deviant effects and random tempo shifts.  The vocals are transfigured beyond recognition, guitars squeal and when the bass-lines kick in (and when they want to be) it's infuriatingly catchy.  In fact, it's fucking mind-blowing, equal parts the no-wave funk of ESG / Liquid Liquid at their best, but with the clanging atmospherics / experimentation of Faust and the obvious outsider, re-purposed take on the whole thing that comes from making this music on an island miles away from everything.  Imagine if this lot got locked in strawberry studios with a red-eyed Martin Hannett let loose at the desk.. fertile grounds for what could have been the best record EVER.  (VG+ / VG+ - (like all copies, one side of the record poorly pressed / 'cloudy', some markings.  In original sleeve with insert.. rare).
