Essential Crammed Discs release from Benjamin Lew & Steve Brown with their 2nd LP (and follow up to the incredible Douzième Journée: Le Verbe, La Parure, L'Amour), with another trickily titled for non-francophones A Propos D'Un Paysage. As usual for the Crammed stuff, this one battles against being pigeon-holed, equally soft ambient music as it is contemporary jazz as it is avant-folk whilst always taking abstracted influences from the middle-eastern and distant African music. Aksak Maboul member Marc Hollander gets involved with a range of different instruments, as does Manchester's finest guitar virtuoso Vini Reilly of Durutti Column. A true melting pot! (Japanese Edition No OBI / With Insert. Vinyl / sleeve VG+).
