Mythical object self-released by Kyoto’s cult guerrilla freeform dub / funk outfit EP-4 - an odd combination of a live performance cassette buried within and attached to an illustrated zine / propaganda booklet. Being able to hear this lot play live with Vanity Records associated producer genius Kaoru Sato at the controls is truly mind-blowing - their loose-limbed, mutant strain of post-funk / wave is at its most amorphous and unhinged. Tracks clearly recognisable from their treasured Lingua Franca-1 LP / EP are mangled, distorted and dubbed-out within an inch of their life, but the musicianship remains tight - executed with dynamics and free-flowing enthusiasm throughout. The version of ‘Coco’ takes on an extra swagger, punctuated by searing guitar riffs and that intoxicating bass strut.. Liquid Liquid on whizz!! The.best.shit.ever.. check out the book! RARE! (NM/NM).
