Mutant dub derivatives from one half of holy Finnish electronics project Pan Sonic, Ilpo Väisänen under his short-lived Liima alias on the Raster-Noton off-shoot label Kangaroo.Mixing traditional dub producing techniques with the mind-altering, industrially-lacquered sound design, Iipo feels his way through two versions, embracing spontaneity and intuition throughout whilst threading a cord through the rough-hewn Jamaican dub 7”s of the 80’s to the hard minimal techno of the 90’s.Version 1 mixes up restless, delay-drenched drums together with stomach-turning, seismic sub-bass jolts, whilst Version 2 takes a more languid approach, with heavily-phased percussion and oblique surges of electronic tones mixed down with uncanny spatial awareness and psychoacoustic pressure.An absolute monster, ye have bin warned!(VG+++ / VG+++)
