Al Wootton and Valentina Magaletti’s (CZN, Tomaga) joint Holy Tongue project return for their second bout of dub-crated, post-punk inspired psychedelia following their mind-bending debut that disappeared here in a flash. Huge, chest-rattling basslines collide with driving, dynamic rhythms amidst dense layers of effects, heavily composed down into a deeply chonged, meditative state of ritualistic, low-pressure revelry. Saxophonist Ben Vince gets in on the action on the last track ‘Breicha’, adding an extra psychoactive layer of mind-spiralling texture to the duo’s dub-soaked expanse. Unbelievably good and stamped with highest recommends for anyone into Liquid Liquid / 99 Records, Maximum Joy, On-U sound, 23 Skidoo or the longggg list of other amazing records Valentina has been involved with of late.
