Four years ago Tarquin was telling us to Fall In Love With Yourself on that dub-drenched Eartha Kitt sampling 7” on the Australian label Purely Physical Teeny Tapes. Annie U R A Bird ups the ante for an extended 12” sensual joyride ft fellow Aussie Jonnine. We’re deep in instant wormhole territory. The whole thing rides a top a plump, rubbery circa 90bpm bump heavily intoxicated with Jonnine’s siren-like vocals that lift the whole piece into dream-land. Turning over, the other-side dives deeper into the trenches for a unfathomably deep and hypnotic instrumental that allows that sweltering bass line the room it needs to manoeuvre.
