Genius label comp of high concept pomo pop on the hyper mysterious Fondation Petya Sasser Rike with links to NTS early bird supremo Pam.
A serious statement of intent here, a label sampler that cover all corners of the international pop underground. As you might expect there’s a lot to take in: a ramshackle space blues from MB Jones, dark dubbed wellness from Céline Gillian and downtempo guitar pop from the enigmatic Gyeongsu. But it’s the lesser known names that really shine. Croche, who guested on that amazing lathe from Gyeongsu last year, returns here with a lemonsweet take on tech house and 90s radio hits. Meetsystem and Viktor Roo’s Runner van der zaak is a brilliant meeting of world weary benelux vocals and gently euphoric ambient dub. Best of all, for me anyway, is Radio Hugo’s home a gorgeous sad eyed hymn to our collective confusion. (mint / new - with free DL)
