Mutant Japanese underground DIY holy grail 7" on the LLE label from Tokyo's Anima Kanae.
This one really has it all. SLOW smouldering grainy drums, brittle woodblock rhythms, swirling interference in the back and the all important deadpan vocals. Out of all the insane underground 7"s to emerge from this extremely fertile period in time, Anima absolutely takes the top spot for the 'what on earth did I just hear' moment. She also played synths on the similarly incredible D.R.Y Project although the four tracks here stand alone for their peculiar hybrid of paranoid / nihilistic takes on industrial music mixed with spiky, too cool for school new wave. Oh how we wish there was more from her. Monster 7" and very hard to find anywhere. (NM - with insert).
