The Coctails!  Forgotten, or more realistically.. never noticed 10” of melodic and endearing acoustic indie pop from the Chicago group who disbanded after this record.  It’s a mult-instrumental meltdown of a lonnnnggggg list of instruments - banjo, organ, Wurlitzer, percussion, brass, bass, harp (!), the works.  There’s a playful and naive charm throughout, definitely evoking a kinship with the sequestered feel of the Spillage Fete label, Bons, Speedbooth, et al.  ‘Hustle & Bustle’ mixes up nostalgic organ notes with flutters of playful melody and quirky stop/start percussion, whereas more inward looking moments recall the cosy acoustic touch of The Remote Viewer, New North Wales, The Boats and that (still under-appreciated in my view) world.  Great homemade music that never got a chance!  (Mint / New - unplayed deadstock)
