Wassermann – Fackeln Im Sturm
Label: Profan – PROFAN 017
Format: Vinyl, 12", 33 ⅓ RPM, Reissue
Style: Techno, Minimal, Experimental
Killer abstracted techno 12" from German polymath Wolfgang Voigt under his lesser spotted Wassermann alias. Originally dropped on his buy-on-sight imprint Profan in '96, Voigt flaunts his typically minimalistic style, taking hints from the emergent glitch styles of the time, later-date Chain Reaction to the harsher end of German techno in the 90's to craft a sound that is repetitive, fragment and hypnotic. The rough edges and smothered kicks pre-date what u might call 'lo-fi' techno by a good 15 years (whilst most of those producers we're still in nappies), and despite being very quite uncompromising its easy to get sucked into this 1.
(Vinyl NM clean and glossy - Sleeve fully in tact just some subtle edge wear VG+).
