Rare as hen’s teeth, tech-house anomaly birthed onto Thomas Melchior’s inexplicably short-lived Softcore Records by his own joint Vulva project with Tim Hutton.As much as I’m a sucka for this stuff, I’m still struggling to get to grips with the apparent fierce demand for this one, but a’las.. ‘Doggy Bag’s’ blend of squirming, awkward and sorta fidgety percussion ’n bass mixed with that glacial, filter-sweeping melancholic synth chord is pretty special, especially when pitched down -4 into the drug zone.‘Science Bag’ on the flip is a little darker and more spangled, spluttering outta the gates with percussion firing on all cylinders.Definitely a biggie if yr into this stuff..
