Head-melting collection of complex electronic pieces from Japanese father and son Tashi and Yoshi Wada exploring the magical overtones that arise as a result of their non-standard tuning scales. Despite being a key member of the late 60's interdisciplinary Fluxus group along with La Monte Young and Pandit Pran Nath, releases have been somewhat scarce from Yoshi, bar the life-affirming and destructive epic Earth Horns With Electronic Drone and a couple of other hard to obtain LPs. Collaborating here on Nue we're treated to droning bag pipe pieces ('Ground'), which recalls the works laid on on Yoshi's '82 debut Lament For The Rise And Fall Of The Elephantine Crocodile and really taps into the otherworldly harmonic potential of 'unusual' tuning scales, whilst 'Litany' deploys complex rising tones to deadly effect. Its a DEEP listen throughout but one that continues to offer new and rewarding intricacies whilst perfectly joining the dots between ancient Tibetan buddhist chanting and the magical concrete output of the GRM. Recommended.
