Kit Records does the right thing by pressing up Belgian lifeguard Romeo Poirier's debut cassette Plage Arrière on vinyl, providing a much needed cooling tonic whilst Europe is in the tight grips of this BRUTAL heatwave. Poirier's obvious love for all things wet seeps out of this one, with frothy, sea-foam textures set against light, breezy rhythms that amble along at their own leisure. The intricate sound design is on par with the recent Kystwerk LP (along with Norweigan Poet Lars Haga Raavand), managing to suit advanced background listening situations despite its micro-detailing whilst recalling classic glitch styles laid out by Oval, the more naturist Shuttle358, or similar Clicks n' Cuts alumni Tilman Ehrhorn, Mokira +++.
