A completely gorgeous modern take on instrumental R.I.O. style Chamber prog, soothing, trippy and inventive.
This is absolutely stunning. It’s a collection of beautiful chamber pop miniatures self-released by Nozomu Sato that calls to mind some of the best art-music of the last 50 years. There are hints of Caravan’s hazy Canterbury prog, Belgian dada cafe music a la Aksak Maboul or Jul Verne, Janet Sherbourne & Mark Lockett's timeless piano pieces, the stuff Lindsay Cooper made for Sally Potter’s films etc etc. Just a few of my favourite things… Best of all, this never strays off into whimsy. There’s no agit-prop, no toilet humour, no improv here, just pure, inventive, complex head music. A record to eat a green salad to while looking at your Tom Phillips etchings. No joke, more please.
