French imprint Camisole dive deep into the bottomless gutter of the early 80’s Japanese industrial / DIY scene with this collection of rare and unreleased tracks from Jun Sonohara and Takayuki Shiraishi’s join MLD (Minimum Lethal Dose) project.  Shiraishi’s work is probably better known for his involvement in the fabled 1980 ‘BGM’ LP on Vanity, but his output as MLD occupies a sub-sub-subterranean world that spreads its roots much deeper than the Vanity sprawl, with connections to the cult YLEM collective, short-run / Flexi / cassette imprints like Kitchen Records, Skating Pears, Kageroh and loads more still undiscovered.  Bursting out of the gates like some sorta rabid dog, ‘Perpetual Motion’ taken from the duo’s rare sole 7” release is a sweat-drenched, speed-fuelled bout of raw drums and deranged clatter that doesn’t take its foot off the pedal at any point, whereas elsewhere the unreleased tracks cycle around murky dubb’d-out / post-punk drum machine experiments that sit closer to the drugged + deranged style of Vanity label mate R.N.A Organism or the likes of CHBB who were experimenting with similar equipment and having equivalently fucked up results in Germany.  A very heavy comp from way out in deep waters still untapped..
