Five raw, idiosyncratic machine-heavy club cuts on this surprising and totally out of character offering from usual deep house / ambient authority DJ Sprinkles dropped in 2001 on the Comatonse label.  Explained on the back cover ‘’Stripped and minimal… New York, Newark.. Chicago.. Toronto..?  These are reconstructed memories of the sounds embraced by the late ‘80s underground House Culture…’, Terre’s always been keen to investigate, rearrange and represent the context and roots of underground dance culture throughout her entire career, here manifesting itself hard, stomping, warehouse-dwelling club tracks laced with very obvious samples stripped from formative house producers Z-Formation (Frenzy), an early Strictly Rhythm 12” (Scram), Farley ‘Jackmaster’ Funk, Todd Terry and more.  Bassline.89.3 lets the 808 run wild over squirming, filtered-out acid lines, whilst the A-side cuts dive-in straight to the jugular with crude, stripped and straight-to-the-point jacking tracks, although the most WTF moment goes the wild ‘Glorimar’s Whore House’ with its heavy chanting and unusual switch-up at the mid point.  Certainly the most un-Sprinkles Sprinkles record ever and a must check for anyone keen to explore the obscure, outer-peripheries of club music.  (NM / VG+).
