Another fine instalment to the late Harry Bertoia's long-running, cherished Sonambient series. There's been previous fan-boy ramblings on this site about previous outings on the label, but for the uninitiated, Sonambient is the name of the recordings and the fabled studio where Bertoia famously erected gigantic vertical metal rods that reacted to the wind and touch to produce great swathes of immersive, harmonically complex sound. There's genuinely nothing like it, equal parts industrial and transcendent yet completely engulfing, like being hit by a huge sonic double-decker bus. Captured by four overhead mic's, it's the sound of nature in situ, provoking thoughts as to the infinite sounds that ARE possible, yet we have no way to create them..YET. Exciting stuff. (Vinyl & Sleeve NM, open in shrink, played 1/2 times in shop only).
