Oh lord. Ukrainian songstress Svitlana Nianio’s utterly sublime and assumed long lost second release Kytytsi released on cassette in 1999 released by Polish label Koka Records. Sealed deadstock!
One we’ve coveted ourselves for sometime and recently expertly acquired by our label friends Infinite Expanse and gratuitously shared, Kytytsi is an enchanting, otherworldly and quite frankly mind-blowing collection of ancient neofolk that remained overlooked for far too long. Here, Svitlana’s unmistakable vocals blend effortlessly with folksy accordion, guitar and electric piano. Little else compares. Effortlessly delicate, spiralling and otherworldly, we’re struggling to think of any music this capable of carrying the mind to another dimension. Literally just a handful. (Mint / Sealed)
