Label: Wain – WAI ONE Format: Vinyl, 12", EP Country: UK Released: 2020 Genre: Electronic Style: Dub, Abstract
Early-hours, London-dwelling dub dread from on the freshly minted Wain label from Leeway, known for making up 50% of RAP / Jolly Discs and the Loose Trax parties. Three murky cuts of dub-drenched doom 'n gloom, off first with the muffled atmospherics / sub-bass swagger of 'Muggy' before '8 Bar Dub' takes over with a rolling juggarnaught steppah's groove recalling that monster Kaval Yahudah cut on the ANA Diktat CD back in 2019 (remember the old world), or TNT Roots / John T Gast if ya fancy. The entire duration of the B is given to 'Vibe Collins' - a racier, runaway drum flex with organic, thousand-finger Bedouin finger-drumming (recalling that 2562 Ariel EP for some reason) and an over-arching feeling of DREAD. Will be gone before yr realise how good this is!! limited 200ish.. (mint / new).
