Irresistible 3-track EP from Liverpool post-punk outfit Pink Industry put out via cult, short-lived Glaswegian imprint Catheaxis (Vazz / Clair Obscur).  The new mix of ‘Empty Beach’ is the obvious highlight - crisp, spluttering / kicking drum-machine action bedded into eerie, atmospheric ambience, sparse plucked bass and Jayne Casey indifferent, ice-cold vocals.  Still ridiculously fresh some 30 years+ from release.  Elsewhere, ‘Ticket To Heaven’ is the anthem in slow-motion, still with the same signature neck-snapping drum machine patterns underpinned by this sorta dreamy yet gothic vibe, whilst ‘Don’t Let Go’ goes a gauzier, more motorik route with a very New Order feel / Hooky-styled bass-line.  One of great, still unsung acts to emerge from the fertile musical plains of the UK North West.. (VG+ / VG - some ringwear on reverse).
