Top local lad and Cong Burn associate Charlie Lack catapults of that killer Blank Mind 12" of late '19 with another spread of deft club mechanics for Pev's royal Livity Sound stable. Raised on a diet of DMZ, 140 and classic Bristol bass-weight, Lack feels more than at home on the label, opening with the lush, drifting pad and nervous squirm of 'Inside' before settling into the deeper, air-lock flutters of 'Machine Club'. Flip-side cut 'Rrrush' builds deep Steevio-styled sweeping chords around a tighter 2-step flex, going out fighting with more thuggish broken-beat bout of 'Shifter'. Ridiculous 12" that would undoubtably be pasting the walls of any establishment worth its salt this weekend if it weren't for the invisible enemy - alas it'll endure. Tip for anyone on that Florist 12 on Trilogy Tapes, Mindtours bits, et al... (mint / new)
