RVNG expertly compile a vital survey of 80's West-Coast odd-balls Savant, led by K.Leimer here on 'Artificial Dance'.  Privately released through Leimer's own Palace Of Light imprint, the sprawling group only managed to notch up a single LP, EP and a couple of cuts on some strange comps, but their throughly left-field, 4th world aesthetic is extremely well realised and developed.  It represents the perfect crossroads between Jon Hassell and Eno & Byrne's My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts and the inspiration is very much worn on sleeve (pretty such Eno's voice appears on it too somewhere or I am imagining that?!), but it's also FUNKY in its own awkward, weirdo DIY bedroom-studio kind of way.  My own personal appreciation for this one grows stronger daily, very much lost for words here - desert island disc!  (MINT / SEALED / With beautiful art booklet)
