World-ending double mixtape drop from Tom Boogizm’s now flying Shotta Tapes stable, chasing up more focused previous outings of South African house, dancehall and UK drill with a ridiculously wide-ranging, end-boss level of eclecticism - The Devil On The Cross! It’s worth mentioning at this point that this is the best mixtape I’ve ever laid ears, which anyone unfortunate enough to know me personally will already know since it’s all I’ve really spoken about recently. Strap yourself down for a 3hr voyage thru atonal Greek concrète, odd hallucinogenic dub and rhythmic experimentation, weird left-field cuts, EBM, Wave, sizzling synth-heavy North African folk, rap, post-punk…EVERYTHING basically, ending with an almighty D&B rise out. Think the most relentless, diverse spread of music mixed with exhibition match / Ronaldinho styled DJ tekkers and you’d be somewhere in the ballpark of this genius. If anyone needed any confirmation that Tom is the best DJ on the planet.. this be it. The mixtape, as we know it, is now COMPLETE. (Mint / New).
