Sought after inaugural release on Tanaka's Sundance label finds  Chilean-born German minimal overlord Ricardo Villalobos knocking heads with Fumiya for a two sided outing of highly atmospheric, jazz-tinged avant-mnml groovers.  There's a high concentration of this sort of minimal house shit that completely flops, but the a-side here is the crème de la crème (for me at least), fusing haunting wind-like ambience, subtle odd-ball jazz nods and a refined rolling groove with that cowbell steadily building the tension.  It's dangerously hypnotic and the eerie murmurs, chatterings and random rounds of applause give the feel of an abandoned ballroom.  It's difficult to tell, but is this even club music anymore?  B-side is more your typical, been-out-for-3-days and still trying to have it reduced, twisted roller with all Villalobos' trademark quirks and picks up similar ideas from the Fabric 36 mix, but yeah.. that a-side!  (Vinyl & Sleeve NM).
